Anthony Joshua is a Nigerian born British boxer and his net earnings from boxing over the years as well as above $80million. Today, he is one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. His yearly earnings are estimated at $50 to $60 and it can be more than that. This is the world heavyweight fighter and for a time he was the unified world heavyweight champion.
He was born in the year 1989 October of that year at Watford Hertfordshire in England. This fighter has represented Britain in several sports. In the 2012 Olympics, he represented Britain. In 2011 he won silver for his country during the 2011 championship involving the whole world.
He spent his early years in his native country Nigeria and at the age of 12, his parents were divorced. After that, he came back to England and became active in sports such as track and football.
He started with boxing at the age of 18 in the year 2007. He started winning in the year 2010 when he won the senior ABA championship. Joshua was once the British Amateur champion as well as European amateur champion. He won the amateur champion of the year award in 2011 and had an amateur record of 40-3.
In the London Olympics held in 2012, he represented the host country. He won gold in the super heavy heavyweight division. He joined the professional boxing in the year 2013 in December of that year. He was appointed to the Member of the Order of the British Empire.
He has won tough fights as a professional. It is on record that he defeated Denis Bakhtov to win the WBC International heavyweight title which was vacant then. He also won the Commonwealth heavyweight title and retained the WBC championship which he has won previously. He defeated Gary Cornish in September 2015 to become the champion. In December 2015 he became the British heavyweight title after beating Dillian Whyte. The following year he became the IBF heavyweight champion after defeating Charles Martin.
Joshua equally beat Wladimir Klitschko to become the WBA super which was vacant and IBO heavyweight titles. This gave him an impressive record of 19-0 and with 19 knockouts. The fight alone made him $17million richer. His fight against Carlos Takam earned him $12.5.
He has a setback in June 2019 when Andy Ruiz defeated him. The fight earned him $25 million even though he was defeated.
In the same year December 2019, Joshua was guaranteed $60 to fight Ruiz again in Saudi. His worth is more than a 80Million dollars.
